Cleaning your sheepskin rugs is more than just renting a car or finding a local rug cleaner to take a look around. Not only are these deep plush pile rugs super hard to get out of the dirt, but they also have cover to fight! Sheepskin rugs are sheepskins whose fleece is still intact. The fluffy wool will permanently adhere to the skin during the tanning process, making it the perfect rug for your home or office.
Sheepskin rugs can be marketed in natural colors or dyed to your liking. The distinctive appearance of sheepskin is highly appreciated and can add style, elegance, and personality to any room.
Heirloom® Rug Cleaning's certified rug cleaners have the proper tools and years of expertise to keep your sheepskin rugs like new. Our deep cleaning process preserves the wool, leathers, and tanning of the sheepskin rugs. We are available in Louise Lake, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Airdrie, and other significant cities we serve.
Professional cleaning keeps sheepskin rugs soft for years. Our cleaning methods are safe and effective in keeping the skin plump and reducing possible contractions during the process:
Remove Dry Soil from Sheepskin- It is essential to remove as much dry soil as possible before wetting the wool. It allows you to do two things. It makes wet cleaning more manageable and helps keep the rinse water much cleaner—more thorough rinsing.
Vacuuming- We thoroughly vacuum the skin. It allows us to inspect the rugs further. We look for loose fur, stains, and other weird things that may not have been seen on the first inspection. If we find something that could interfere with the cleaning process, we will notify you at this point and discuss how to proceed, but this is very rare.
Rug Flapping- Sheepskin rugs tend to tear and are unsuitable for this process, so you cannot hit these rugs with a beater. Therefore, we may put your sheepskin rugs in a flapping machine that is very useful for these rugs.
Air Pollination- This process blows air into the long wool fibers of the rug at high speeds to remove fine dust particles, talc, and all other small debris, giving it the same soft, fluffy look as new.
